3 Signs That Indicate You May Have a Plumbing Problem

Are you receiving insanely high water bills? Are you seeing water stains? If yes, you may be having plumbing troubles.

We all tend to think that we will know when something is wrong with our plumbing, but it is not always that easy. We either ignore the most basic signs or we only realise something is wrong when we get the water bill. Those annoying things that you ignore, may be a sign of more serious plumbing issues. Look out for these signs and if you can’t fix them easily, call the professionals.

1. A dripping or leaking faucet – This is one of the most common signs and one that we tend to ignore even though it drives us crazy. A dripping faucet can waste gallons of water and cost you a lot of money. It is usually the result of worn out seals and washers. If it is a minor problem, you can just replace those.

2. Low water pressure – There are several reasons why your water pressure may be low. It could be the municipal water supply that has a problem or it can be closer to home. It may be that you have residue that built up in your faucets or fixtures. You can just remove them and clean them. If that doesn’t help, it may be more serious like clogged pipes, pipes that are too narrow, or because you have a serious leak somewhere.

3. A clogged drain – A clogged drain or toilet is a very unpleasant thing and something that needs to be fixed as soon as possible. When the problems are minor, you can use a plunger and commercial drain and toilet blockage removal chemicals. However, if the problem persists and you frequently need to get the plunger, it may be a sign of a bigger problem. Call a professional plumber to see where the blockage is and clear it out with the right tools.

If any of these problems don’t seem to get better or if you suspect that something big is wrong, contact your local plumber immediately.
